Inspiration
This is an unashamedly contemporary abstract artwork which is heavily textured and uses bold bright colours that contrast with the darker hues of purples, golds and red. It seeks to take the viewer into the complex depths of our world and its cosmos. There is a sense of the majesty of the universe, of things beyond our ken, and a recognition of our primeval need for both lightness and darkness. The colours in the picture were inspired by 1960’s artist Dan Flavin, one of the first artists to use neon colours.
