Who is Tony Davie?
Coming from a family background in which art was a major theme, I have had a lifelong interest in art. Throughout a successful corporate career I have always painted, exploring my creativity. My artwork is featured in many private collections.
I now paint full time at my studio in Cheltenham.
What is my style?
The vibrancy of my artistic style has been developed through travel, experimentation, and a fascination with light, colour and shape. My pictures are statement pieces which don't sit quietly in the corner of a room, but stand out, arresting the eye and giving the space an innovative feel.
The capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behaviour of someone or something, or the effect itself.
I have been strongly influenced by artists such as Chagall, Kandinsky and Matisse because of their bold use of colour and shape and vivid focus on place. I am also heavily influenced by places I have visited and this is reflected in my art. Locations such as Nice, Marrakesh and Positano continue to resonate with and inspire me.
I enjoy using mixed media and each of my pieces is designed to be a focal point and stand out in any room. Geometrical shapes and patterns feature widely in my pictures and suggest my interest in abstract structure and form...
