This print is produced using the giclée method of printing to Fine Art Trade standards. This limited addition print of 25 has been printed on Arches Aquarelle Rag Paper. The paper is made the traditional way, on a cylinder mould, with a harmonious natural grain which has very high colourfastness and archival permanence. The print is supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity which includes Date of release, My Signature, and Number Addition.
This picture evokes a moment in time as the day draws to a close at Sennen Cove, the last embers of light are glowing, warming the horizon with a poignant blend of the sorrow of loss as beauty ebbs and fades away and the hope of tomorrow. The contrast between the deep dark colours and the flickers of gold seek to evoke this sense and to give the viewer a glimpse into the ephemeral nature of the scene. As light shifts into darkness, we feel swept into the night and there is nothing we can do but to linger in this moment and to wait for the next.
This series of paintings is my largest ever project, 365 artworks of Sennen Cove, one for each day of the year, inspired and captivated by this beautiful, magical bay in a remote part of western Cornwall near Land’s End.
No two days are the same and each painting endeavours to catch a moment in time using abstraction to convey a sense of mood, time and place.
