Calm After the Storm is inspired by Sennen Cove in Cornwall, capturing the moment when the sea begins to settle and calm returns after turbulent weather. Sweeping, textured layers mirror the movement of the retreating waves, while soft blues and muted pink tones evoke the shifting light and atmosphere. Subtle touches of gold leaf catch and reflect the light, suggesting the sun breaking through the clouds. The piece conveys both the power of the storm and the peaceful stillness that follows.
Sennen Cove is a picturesque Cove located near Land’s End in Cornwall, England. It has a stunning sandy beach and wonderful magical light as you look towards the horizon. The area offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and is a starting point for scenic coastal walks along the South West Coast Path. Sennen Cove’s clear waters, dramatic landscape, big horizons make it a mystical place.
